Dubai Hotels 2008 - New to Ramadan? Do's and Don'ts this September
Ramadan Do’s and Don’ts: The local authorities become especially sensitive to social faux pas throughout Ramadan. Below are a few guidelines to keep you from offending anyone:
- Don’t eat or drink in public before sunset. This includes consuming anything in your car / taxi and eating chewing gum.
- Don’t smoke in public.
- Don’t wear revealing clothes throughout Ramadan.
- Don’t buy alcohol for a Muslim. While this rule applies all year round, penalties for breaking this rule are higher during Ramadan.
- When at “iftar” (breaking the fast after sunset), don’t begin eating before anyone else. The communal prayer will signify the beginning of “iftar”.
- Don’t try to coerce a Muslim into breaking his or her fast.
- Don’t show public displays of affection.
- Don’t raise the volume on your stereo or TV during prayer times.
- Don’t swear in public.
- Don’t stare or point at Emirati women. This is a general rule, but again,locals are especially sensitive to prying eyes during Ramadan.

Dine Free! Introducing the Starwood Privilege Dining Loyalty Program at the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Dubai
For the fans of the Mina's spectacular range of restaurants and bars, a Dining Loyalty Program may be just the thing to get excited about! The 'Starwood Privilege' program features a superb range of dining and add-on benefits, including the fact that the member is entitled to dine on a complimentary basis at all participating hotel restaurants when dining with at least one paying guest. Members are also entitled to receive the Starwood Privilege Rate, which is an ongoing discount of 5% off the lowest available rate of the day at the time of booking , at participating hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Other exciting features include local and global benefit certificates.

Bussola - “Birthday Bye bye”
Everyone’s favourite scenic restaurant will close for a short period from June 3rd, while the new pool is extended across the front façade of the restaurant and the new gardens are landscaped. As it is BUSSOLA’s Birthday on June 2nd, we will have a “farewell Birthday party” for all to enjoy. Details of the re-opening will be displayed in the Hotel lobby.
